Savannah's Page!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!!

Well, it's about time!  This page is dedicated to, and all about Madison's amazing and incredible big sister, Savannah.

July 2011
Savannah is now 9 years old.  WOW, how time flies!  She just finished up an amazing year of 3rd grade, and is excited and very ready for 4th.

This has been a fun year for Savannah.  She has been busy with school, dance, and Girl Scouts.  She also saves plenty of time to play her heart out at home.  Either inside with her Barbies and dancing to music or outside with our neighborhood friends.

This was Savannah's second year taking ballet and tap.  She really shone this year when she danced, and did a wonderful job at her end of the season performance.  From my shy embarassed little girl to a radiant and confident young lady.  We were so proud of her!  While she loves dancing, performing is still not her favorite thing to do, but she really stepped up and danced her heart out.  Savannah dances for Juline's School of Dance, which is a wonderful company.  She is even thinking about auditioning for Central West Ballet's Nutcracker this year!

Savannah has been in Girl Scouts since Kindergarten.  She is in a wonderful troop, with two amazing leaders, Wendy and Branda.  These ladies are completely dedicated to Girl Scouts and take such good care of their troop.  I almost thought Savannah was not going to be interested in continuing on in Girl Scouts next year, but when I asked her she definitely wanted to continue on.
While I think Savannah loves being in Girl Scouts, she doesn't usually love doing the extra activities that are offered.  I've just learned to accept that and let her choose if she wants to do anything extra.  We kind of forced her on an overnight camping trip, and that didn't go so well.  We (Derek...) ended up driving 1 1/2 hours to pick her up in the evening.  So, if she says she doesn't want to do something, I guess she means it!!!  There are some things you need to force your kids to do, but extra Girl Scout activities is not one we are choosing to press!

Just keep on going on, Savannah!!!

Go, Maddie, Go!
